The Altnaharra Hotel has its own, private stretch of the River Mudale, and can periodically arrange fishing on a number of other Highland rivers including The Strathmore, the Naver and The Borgie, all famous for seasonal salmon and trout fishing.
In addition, numerous lochs are available for wild brown trout fishing. Boats are available to hire to explore the lochs and fish for trout in a uniquely spectacular landscape.
The Altnaharra Hotel also has some of the most experienced ghillies available to help and advise guests during their stay. A ghillie is a fishing expert who can assist you with your session and give you tips on where to cast. Casting tuition is also available by prior arrangement.
Facilities at the hotel include a drying room, and we are well stocked with tackle and equipment, should you wish to buy or hire some.
